Lock on Modules Pages

I am trying to remove this lock icon from my module pages.

Hi @lewis1sb,

From your screenshot, I am guessing you are a student in this course.  If that is the case, the best course of action is to let your teacher know you're seeing the lock image there.  That means they have linked to an image you do not currently have access to as a student.  They may have mistakenly linked to an image from a different/past course or forgot to publish the image or a number or other possibilities.  The teacher is definitely the one who will need to go into the course and correct the problem though.

Thanks for this; I am the instructor. I have checked the images included in the course and everything is published. is there a way to identity what is causing this issue?

Is it just the one module?  Or is it all modules?

Actually - I just looked a little closer, that is not on a module, rather it is a page.  you need to look at the page titled Presidents Welcome.  Edit that page and go to html view to find out where the lock image is coming from.  I agree with @chriscas that the link in the page is going to something that is locked.  You will have to look at the actual page and make sure that the link is correct.

In my experience as a Canvas admin, I'm going to guess the image in incorrectly linked to an old course.  Acting as the teacher, it would look fine to you, because you'd have access to the old course.  For your students (or when using student view), they'll see the lock because they don't have access to the old course.  The most straightforward way to fix this would be to edit the page, delete whatever image you see in the place where the students see the lock, then just re-insert the image and save.  You could also try to get fancy switching to html editing mode, but unless you're a web person I wouldn't recommend that route.
