I was marking a final exam with 30 submission, question by question, saving grades entered in the rubric as I went. Came back the next morning to find all info wiped except comments in bottom comment area. Facing two days lost work and missed deadline.
Not sure what may have happened. One worry is that I may have somehow wiped the data by making an adjustment in the assignment tab to correctly display the grades on the grade sheet. I changed the total points for the final form 0 to 30.
But it happened for another assignment as well where I had made no such change. Not sure what is going on. Goofy and frustrating.

I saw some relevant replies, now they are not visible. What goes on?

Hello @MichaelGertler
Thank you for contacting Canvas Support. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with lost grades in speedgrader. This can be a tricky situation to resolve without looking at the specifics. Are you using for the actual grades posted or more as a resource for the students to view afterwards and get a break down of the points administered? You mentioned "One worry is that I may have somehow wiped the data by making an adjustment in the assignment tab to correctly display the grades on the grade sheet. I changed the total points for the final form 0 to 30." Can you explain this more in depth? This process may have led to the grades disappearing. There are ways of recovering old versions of courses and grades either using gradebook history and/or exporting content from beta view. You would want to speak with a school administrator about using beta but you could at least check the history and manually put those grades back:

Beyond that, it would be best if you contacted Canvas Support or your school directly to pinpoint the source of the issue and provide a resolution:
