Marking modules as completed

Is there a way for students to have a notification within a module that they have already looked at a page? My student was mentioning that since there are several ways to get to the same page, they are not always aware if they are looking at a new document or one that they have already read. Is this possible?

When I set up Module requirements, I choose the option "Mark as Done" rather than "View" for Pages. At the bottom of the Page, the students have to click on a box. Then they will see a green box that says "Done."
