Hey Community.
I was wondering if there is an option with new quizzes on canvas where you can add multiple hots spot to one question.
For example, I include an extract from a novel and want my students to identify wrong spelling, verbs, full stops etc.

@ThomasHowell ...
No, this is not possible. Hot spot questions only allow for one hot spot per question, and you define where that hot spot is after you upload the image to the question.
How do I create a Hot Spot question in New Quizzes?
Sorry I don't have better news for you, but I hope this helps to answer your question.

Hi there, is having multiple hot spots on the one question going to looked at in the future?
Hi @GraceHill ...
I'm not too sure, to be honest. The best resource I can point you to is:
New Quizzes Hub - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
On this page, you'll find a "New Quizzes Roadmap" where you can see what projects Instructure is working on (broken down by quarter) for the near future.
I did find this Idea that's already been created:
[New Quizzes] New Quizzes: Multiple Hot Spot - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
You'll notice that this Idea is part of a larger Theme called:
Expand types of questions for more creative assess... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
I'd encourage you to follow each of these so that if/when this opens for voting, you'll be able to do that and participate in the conversations there.
Hope this will help a bit!
If you use the polygon option, you are able to create a long skinny stretch of nothingness that might allow you to create "two" hotspots while technically only having one.
It is not the best option, and definitely would not work for everything. However, for cases like mine where I want them to be able to choose either desk... how likely are they to click the tiny stretch while selecting the wrong answer? Probably zero 🙂
