One student in course is being shown warning "Five Minutes Left Before Quiz Will Be Marked Late"

I have one student in course that is being shown warning "Five Minutes Left Before Quiz Will Be Marked Late".

The quizzes are not timed.   

The student is starting the quizzes well before the due date/time

The message is consistently appearing in all quizzes so far in this one course, and appears around 50 minutes into the quiz(again, plenty of time left before approaching the due date/time)

There are no obvious Moderation edits made for this student, other students are reporting the quiz working fine.

We've not been able to replicate it by masquerading.

At this point I'm stumped.    I'm guessing a browser plugin, we're asking them to try a different browser and see if it still happens.   

Has anyone else encountered this scenario before?

Hi glparker,

That would be my first suspicion as well, as you've listed off most other potential causes.

I would recommend coordinating with Canvas support and ensuring the student has their cache cleared, as well as seeing which extensions they have active, and if you can do a controlled test with that student (test course/exam, wait approx. 50 minutes and see if it shows). It's possible this is something relating to a browser extension, but that would be something Canvas support or you would need to investigate.
