Has anyone set up an orientation on Canvas that works well for both in-person and remote students?
We’re expecting students from various locations this time, and I want to make sure it’s accessible for everyone.

Oh, for sure! I’ve done this before, and Canvas actually works pretty well for a mix of in-person and remote students...

Here’s what I did.. I set up most of the orientation as self-paced, with videos and readings that everyone could access whenever. For the live sessions, I just recorded them and posted them in Canvas so anyone who couldn’t make it live could still watch later.

I also used announcements to keep everyone updated and added a few quizzes to make sure everyone was on track. Kept things simple but made sure it worked for both groups.

I am so confused! I need to do online orientation at my own pace and can't find even one way to access any student orientation anywhere at all. I've emailed NMSU over for a month now, got very busy, then received a notice of orientation 1 day before it is scheduled 5/27/25 and still can't find out how to accomplish this.  I wonder why it is so hard to figure orientation out. Does anyone know the answer how to find access to New Student Orientation?
