Hi there, I'm tying to work out how to create an interactive element that appears on a page - like a quiz but without the grading, assessment time and results wheel - I just want students to write a reflection without it being an assignment. Its for adult learners. they aren't being assessed. I'm not fond of the way quizzes and assignments have to be a big thing! I found a mention of practice quizzes but can't find that option. I'm even just after a checkbox interaction 'Tick this box if you agree with this quotation'... I'm coming from the Articulate rise platform and I'm having issues converting the content.

To create a practice quiz, you must first create a quiz (classic quiz), and then select the quiz type to be practice quiz. The options are explained in this page: what quiz types can I create in a course?
If you are using the new quizzes (instead of classic quizzes), I believe the only option is to make the quiz be worth 0 points.
I recommend also adding the quizzes to a 0% weighted assignment group with a name such as "not counted for grade" to make it clear for the students that it's not going to count.

Canvas offers limited interactivity outside of Quizzes and Discussions. How have you been working through converting the Articulate course? Have you just been uploading screenshots or videos?
There's another option to build out Pages and set prerequisites along the way, but I think the easiest option would be to build a New Quiz and utilize their Stimulus feature. You can insert a text or media and attach a short answer section to it (the Essay question type).
The Pages route is a bit more unwieldy, but you could create Pages in a Module and set prerequisites for viewing each page so that students are required to view the pages in a specific order. You could create a button on the bottom of the page that opens an Assignment where students can type a short response in the RCE (and make the assignment ungraded). You can add another button on the page to take students to the next part of the learning/training.

Hi @DavinaFarinola2 , in the future we should have a feature like that (there is a new feature being worked on called "Block Editor" which will have that kind of ability). But at this time, we only have the tools within Canvas (quizzes and assignments).
To add on to the great suggestions above:
You can name the Quiz or Assignment whatever you like: "Check-in", "Share your thoughts", "Do you agree"? Yes, it is the functionality of the quiz or assignment tool, but you can name it however you like.
