I took my 2.5 hour exam today only to find out that none of my progress was saved. When the time limit was reached, the exam flashed a “Go to Results” on screen. Nothing was happening when I clicked the button, so I refreshed the tab. Then, it said the site couldn’t be reached. I assumed it had automatically saved and submitted anyway; however, nothing was submitted on my professor’s end. It’s as if I hadn’t taken the exam at all, although I was present and taking the exam along with everyone else on the school’s computers as per our exam guidelines.

I am sorry to read that none of your progress on your exam was saved. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it can be recovered or not. It sounds like you already tried contacting your instructor, but your instructor wasn't able to see your submission. In cases like this, I would highly recommend that you reach out to the Canvas Help Desk staff. No promises or anything like that, but they might be able to investigate this more on their end to see if retrieving your submission would even be possible. They may have additional questions for you related to your exam session that could be used to further troubleshoot this issue.
In order to contact the Help Desk staff, you can click on the "Help" icon on the far left-hand side of your Canvas course. Then, select "Report a Problem" from the slide-out menu that appears. Make sure that you are on the screen where the error occurred so that some additional metadata is sent along with your ticket when you use the "Report a Problem" link that will be shared with the technician who will help you.
Again, sorry that you are experiencing this issue, but I hope that they will be able to investigate this with you further.
