I've been using Canvas and noticed there are different types of quizzes mentioned in the documentation, like graded quizzes, practice quizzes, and surveys. However, I only see one type available in our Canvas instance.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to enable these other quiz types in our Canvas setup?
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Abdul

Hi @Abdul_bmis
What you're describing--graded quiz, practice quiz, survey--are actually just the different "Quiz Type" settings that you can select when creating a "classic" quiz. See https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/What-quiz-types-can-I-create-in-a-course/ta-p/12...
Expanding on what @mzimmerman shared, there are current two different Quiz builders in Canvas- one referred to as "Classic" and the other as "New"
In Classic Quizzes, you have the option to create those different quiz types. However, this is not a feature in New Quizzes. Your institution may have only New Quizzes enabled, meaning you wouldn't have access to the built-in Quiz types available in Classic Quizzes. You will want to check with your Canvas administrator to see if you are able to access Classic Quizzes to use the different quiz types.

Yep, I left out the whole "classic vs New Quizzes" part! 🤣
