i have posted the student grades in the gradebook. now how do i return the graded quiz to the students?

Hello!  Unless you have chosen to hide grades in your Gradebook via a grade posting policy (either for the entire course or for a specific graded assignment), those scores would typically appear immediately for students in their own Gradebook.

yes, i was able to post the grades using the gradebook and students learned their scores. i still need to return the papers to them so they will see where they got the answers wrong and hopefully prepare them for the succeeding quizzes. and this is my problem - there seems to be no way to give back to the students the quiz that they previously submitted. thank you

I am not sure I am following you completely. 

I am going to assume based on what you have written is that the students had to upload a quiz they took on paper and not a Canvas Quiz.  Then I am going to assume that this class is online and you do not meet with the students in person. 

If the students had submitted a pdf version of the quiz, you should have been able to mark it up directly in speed grader and they could see those marks.

However, if you printed them out and marked those quizzes you would have to in turn scan all the graded quizzes and then send them back to each student iindividually.

I may be off on what you are trying to do.  If so, provide some more information on the exact nature of how the quiz was taken and submitted and how the grading was done.

yes, the class is online. this is what i did: 

i created a quiz in canvas. at the appointed time the students opened it and submitted their responses. after the submission, i graded their quiz using the speedgrader. i then posted their grades in the gradebook. the students confirmed having seen their scores. 

now i want the quizzes that they submitted (and i graded) be shown back to the students so they can see how they fared based on the individual questions. this is what i meant when i said "i wanted to return to them their graded quiz".

browsing through the community notes then, i read a mention where it says i can return the papers to one or several students. but i cannot find the link to that action.

i think i finally got it.
i will just wait for confirmation from the students that the papers were successfully returned.
