Redirect tool for multiple courses at a time

We have used the redirect tool in the past to add a library link to the navigation menu in every course. We did it at the root level since every course needed the same link.

Now we need to add a link to a specific list of courses on our instance and I'm not seeing a way to do this without manually adding it to each course individually. We haven't been able to get the redirect tool to install correctly through API. 

Is it possible to bulk-install the redirect tool to multiple courses or am I correct that I will have to add it to the courses one at a time?

You have been able to successfully redirect at  the root level, but now you are trying to do it for specific courses? Roughly how many  - can these courses be put into their own sub account? Also what is the API you are using that isn't working as intended? There have been others looking for similar things albeit there's a little bit of a difference, this may be helpful to you:

If you can't move these into their own sub account (likely) then yes, you would need to do it per course unfortunately.
