Good morning Community,
I was presented with a question this morning that I’m not entirely sure how to answer. I searched the community but didn’t find this issue addressed anywhere, and the instructor guide didn’t shed any light either.
Here’s the gist: a teacher wants to hide the high, low, and mean scores from the student results view of a quiz. The teacher does have “Hide results from students” toggled on, yet students can still see these statistics.
The main goal is to prevent those numbers—especially the low score—from showing, since they tend to spark unnecessary speculation (and a bit too much competition) among APUSH students.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the full question for context. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @KatGorringe,
As far as I know, the quiz page itself does not show any data about other students. If multiple attempts are enabled for the quiz, it will show the score for each of the attempts the student made.
The grades page does, by default, include statistics for each assignment (assignment, quiz, graded discussion, etc), which looks like this (this is from a fake quiz I created just for this post, not actual data):
If the teacher wants to shut that off, they can visit the course settings page, and enable the "Hide grade distribution graphs from students" option, which is found towards the bottom of the page. Note that this will disable that feature for all assignments, there is not an individual assignment-level control for this.
I hope this helps!
