Retrieving discussion

I was writing a very long response over 500 words to a discussion and it just vanished.  Is there anyway to retrieve it?

Welcome to the Canvas Community!!!

Unless your course was using the New Rich Content Editor, there is not auto-save and the content is not retrievable.  When it comes to typing long replies, once recommendation is to type the reply in a text editor (Word, GoogleDoc, etc.) and then copy and paste into the reply.
