What is the latest progress on incorporating the Rich Text Editor in messages or course emails?

Our institution primarily communicates via Canvas messages and email. We need more formatting options when sending messages to students.

@joella_robinson You are not the first user to make this suggestion, and it has been added to an identified theme ( Improve the inbox functionality to provide for more meaningful communication ) that will hopely be slated for development in Canvas sometime in the near future.  If you have further suggestions for improvements, you may want to submit them to the Ideas forum (or contribute to previously submitted ideas) as this is where many of the ideas for improvements are gathered.

Thank you for your response. It looks like it was listed as an idea, possibly as early as 2015. It appears it was in beta testing and then delayed since 2022. "Improved Inbox Functionality [Production Release Delayed]" was posted in September or October 2022.
