This is a niggling observation that one of our teachers made: IF it is past the due date for an assignment AND the student has not submitted any work AND a student clicks the assignment from the course-level "Coming Up" list THEN they are sent to a view of all the submissions that they don't have for that assignment. They can click through from there to actually see the assignment, but it's an unnecessary interstitial. In the same late-and-unsubmitted state, students go to the actual assignment first from the Calendar or their own To Do list.
Any chance this is a configuration issue on our end? Ideas for how to reframe this annoyance? (Other than "well, I guess you should have turned it in!") Thanks!
