How can I display the correct answer (not the accepted answer) for formula questions with tolerance in New Quizzes?
Scenario:
Problem:
Request:
Is there a setting to show the correct answer (0.9001) instead of the accepted answer (1.0) with the tolerance? This would help students learn the precise value rather than being confused by their rounded response.
When building your quiz, go to “Build”, then “Settings”, and select “Hide Student Responses.” Sub-tabs will appear, and from there, you can choose “Show Student Responses” and edit it as needed. No need to hit save because it will automatically save your changes.
The behavior I describe above is with "Hide results from students" off. If I turn it on, and select the following:
I still get the behavior I describe above, where students see their past accepted answers (i.e., within tolerance of the correct answer) but not the exact correct answer. I would like students to see both accepted and correct answers to avoid confusion.
Hello. I tried it too.
If the answer is incorrect, the correct value is displayed.
However, if the answer was correct because it was within the "+/- margin of error" range, a green correct icon was displayed, and the actual numerical value was not displayed.
Since there doesn't seem to be a setting for this, how about utilizing the “Student Feedback” ?
I hope this helps.
Thanks! Your suggestion may be the best. Still, I wish there were an automated solution. I use Canvas quizzes for auto-graded homework; I do not have the bandwidth to offer feedback on 140 students/week.
