In the new update, I am finding a frustrating glitch when I enter a typed comment to a student submission via SpeedGrader.
I type my comment, then click "Submit"--but when I move to the next student submission, SpeedGrader has created a second blank comment automatically and stops me to ask if I want to save it as a draft. If I check the box labeled "Do not ask me again for this assignment" then it moves to the next assignment but every comment I have left also includes an empty draft comment below it. Very confusing and frustrating. (See attached photo for a typical example. This happens on every post.)
I've never had this happen before. Help?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can disable the "Performance and Usability Upgrades for Speedgrader" within the Features options in the course settings. This will resolve the issue, but you will retain the old features/layout in SpeedGrader. I'm okay with that as long as the glitch isn't bothering me anymore.
I am having the same issue. I have called Canvas and spoke with someone who had me clear my cache etc. None of his suggestions worked. He then told me to try a new browser and offered no other fixes.
Very frustrating, thanks for sharing. Hopefully a solution will be given, or the glitch will iron itself out in a new update.
I have a teacher that is having the same issue. She tried clearing her cache. We will see if this helps her or not.

Awesome! We will try this out today. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for mentioning this. It's very frustrating because some of the new SpeedGrader options (like labeling assignments as "Excused" or "Late" within the SpeedGrader view, rather than only in gradebook) are valuable and make the experience better.
