In Canvas SpeedGrader isn't showing bar graphs/histograms in uploaded Excel documents in the preview window. However, line charts show up fine in the preview window. I'm uncertain if this is a new issue or existing concern.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
We have a similar issue with Microsoft LTI (Cloud Assignment) Excel Histograms.
Student Excel submission DO display the histogram, but bin-width changes do not propagate with the submitted file.
Image 1: Histogram from Excel file, located in LTI SharePoint Student Submission Folder.
This is what we expect to be displayed in SpeedGrader (bin width set to 3.3).
Image 2: Actual Speedgrader submission (bin width re-set to "Auto"?)
This occurred for ALL student submissions.
Not sure if this is an LTI issue, SpeedGrader Issue, or Excel 365 issue.
Any suggestions?
I've noticed just this fall that Excel functions often do not calculate in Speedgrader and wonder if this is a related issue. Basic cells show fine, but (for example) using the t.dist() command will show up as "#NAME?" in the preview. Downloading the file and it looks fine. I've been giving assignments like this for many years, so this is a new change I'm seeing.
This definitely takes the speediness out of Speedgrader, having to download each file 😕
we're seeing the same thing, student submissions will be correct, but Canvas' DocViewer will display "#NUM!" errors instead of the result of functions sometimes. Makes it hard to teachers to grade things.
