Strikethroughs for completed items by students in Canvas Courses

I am a new online student. I find Canvas a bit confusing because I find myself reopening items that I have successfully completed. There should be an automatic strikethrough feature to put a single line through all the completed assignments. As an online newby, it takes me a moment to figure out where I left off. This wastes precious time for me to continue my work. Why has no one thought of this? There is an X next to the assignment but, I don't want to delete anything, just draw a line through it.
