Students being able to see posts in Discussions

Students unable to see instructor post in discussions. Why can a student NOT see a discussion post from the instructor?

Do you mean that they just cannot see what you have posted in the Discussion, or that they cannot see the Discussion at all?

If they cannot see the Discussion, then it is either unpublished or the module it is in is unpublished.

If it is just your posting in the discussion that is not visible, are the students able to see anybody else's posts in it? It could be that you have set the discussion so that students must post their original reply before they can see the replies of others.

Just uncheck that box "Users must post before seeing replies".

I mean that the student cannot see the post that I entered as the instructor. That might be it but where do I find the options for discussions. I looked in settings and cannot find. Thank you!

Just navigate to the Discussion and click Edit in the upper right...............

I would suggest checking out the Discussions chapter of the Canvas Instructor Guide, and specifically https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12975-415249997
