Students not seeing reassigned assignments

I've been reassigning assignments to my students for them to make corrections but they cannot see what assignments they are being reassigned.
Where can a student see that I have reassigned an assignment to them?
When they check their grades, the status is what it was before they resubmitted the assignment. When they resubmit the assignment my gradebook does not show they have submitted anything new. I have it set up for unlimited attempts. There is a due date. When I add when the assignment is available, it doesn't change anything.

Hello @kimmie1310,
When reassigning are you changing the due date to the original assignment or are you selecting the + Assign to reassign the assignment or selecting Reassign in the SpeedGrader?
