Task Conditioning Based on Student Scores

I would like to know if it is possible to condition the completion of an assessment based on the scores obtained by the student in previous evaluations.

For example, imagine we have three tasks: an Activity worth 40 points, a Test worth 60 points, and a Final Exam worth 100 points. I would like the student to be required to take the Final Exam only if the sum of the scores from the Activity and the Test is between 40 and 69 points. If the student scores more than 70 points, they would not need to take the Final Exam, and if the sum is 39 points or less, they would not be eligible to take it.

Has anyone implemented something similar in Canvas? I appreciate any guidance in advance!

What you are talking about seems related to Course Requirements. Course Requirements require students to:

• Complete assignments in order
• Submit assignments with a specific amount of points to move on to the next one.
• Keep students' paced

Let me show you how this feature works:

 

Click the drop-down menu to assign the assignment that is a requirement, then click the second drop-down menu to select the action the student has to complete before moving on. Hope this answers your question. If not, submit an Idea on the Ideas page.
