Test answers not showing

After a test has closed the instructor can let students see correct answers. When this setting is turned on, only some of the students have access to the answers. Why is this?

There are at least a couple of settings that can hide correct answers in quizzes, each of them could hide grades just for some students and show for others in some situations.

1. "Let Students See the Correct Answers" inside the quiz
   If you also selected the "Only After Their Last Attempt", and there are multiple attempts, then only some students, those who submitted all attempts, can see their answers
   
   
2. "Hide assignment grades" in Speedgrader.
   If you already posted the grades of some students, but not others, then only students for which grades have not been posted yet may see the quiz as "muted" after submitting it.

Knowing exactly what students are seeing could help pin down which it is, or if it is something else.
