Too many assignment groups causing Canvas to freeze.

I have a teacher who created about 76 assignment groups. Now when you click on the assignment tab Canvas will freeze and eventually you will need to close the tab, it stops responding.

I could fix this if I could somehow stop the page from loading but nothing I try works.

Canvas said the max number of assignment groups you can have is 50. Anything over 50 and you run into issues.

99.99% of the staff only have 3-5 assignment groups. This teacher has created an assignment group for every day he assigns something.

I did submit a ticket but it takes time for them to fix. Any way I can fix this on my own to speed this up?

The Course I'm struggling with only has 18 assignment groups but more than a thousand assignments. So, I think I'm in the same if not a similar boat. Is there a fix for this that I can put in?
