Turnitin Default Settings in Canvas (Index all Submissions)

Our institution (Pepperdine) recently transitioned from the Sakai LMS to Canvas. 

In Sakai, we had the ability to configure Turnitin default settings when setting up an assignment. But in Canvas, it appears we don't have that ability. 

In particular, the "Index all Submissions" option is enabled by default in Canvas. We don't want this, as our institution wants instructors to be very deliberate about indexing student submissions. And since we had it disabled by default in Sakai, we're concerned that faculty will forget to uncheck this setting in Canvas. 

Have any others encountered this need? Any workarounds or suggestions? Last time I connected with Turnitin, they said it wasn't possible to update the default settings in Canvas. 

NOTE: We're currently using their Originality product.

To my knowledge, there is no workaround in the framework version.

It might be helpful to note that the LTI version does allow instructors to save default settings. So an instructor could make the settings once and set those as the default. If you are a large enough Turnitin customer, you might be able to get their attention to see if there is a custom script that can be run in the LTI settings to set the settings as the institution wishes.

As far as I know, at the College I work at, we have the Turnitin Plagiarism Framework version (not the LTI version) configured in our Canvas environment.  Earlier today, I took a look at our back-end administration pages of Turnitin, and I found these settings (see the bottom of this screenshot):

Is this what you are looking for?  If you are not your school's Canvas admin or the admin who maintains the Turnitin integration, you might want to have a conversation with that person to see if they have these same options available.

I don't know if this will be of any help or not, but I wanted to share this screenshot just in case it might be beneficial for you.  Hope this helps in some way.
