Unable to add Modules/Assigments

I am on the Canvas page attempting to create content, however, I am unable to add modules and assignments.  There should be the "plus" sign on the top right corners, but they do not show up. See screen shots

Are you able to create modules in any other courses where you are assigned as the instructor?

What kind of role do you have in the course where you are not able to add modules?  Does it differ at all compared to the "Teacher" role I assume you have in your other courses?  I ask because the screenshot you've shared doesn't look like the example in Ashlee Espinosa's screen (right away in her video) where she doesn't have any modules built in her course:

Also, is your "Modules" course navigation button enabled in your course?
