What does "participation" actually measure under New Analytics? It doesn't seem as though it's page views since that value can be vastly different than the participation number. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @SteveDwinnells,
I think the he Analytics Page Views and Participations - Instructure Community page has the info you're looking for. In simplest terms, a participation is when a student actively creates something (a discussion post, submits an assignment/quiz, etc). Passive things like a page view are not generally viewed as participation.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Chris. I'm assuming the same would hold true for faculty except theirs would be unique to those features that are "instructor-centric," like posting announcements. Thank you again!
I'm hunting around trying to find out if "Mark as done" is tracked anywhere.... Hoping that it might be a "Participation" under New Analytics, but it does not appear this is the case? Does anyone know if it's possible for instructors to check in on students' "Mark as done" statuses?
