Why did Canvas show students quiz answers before it was supposed to?

A student messaged me about why a certain quiz answer was the correct answer, and I asked how she knew which answer was correct before the answers were supposed to be revealed by Canvas. She said she didn't know, but they were. Why would this happen? The quiz is set up not to allow multiple chances to answer quiz questions, and the answers are set to be revealed after the due date has arrived and the quiz is no longer available. I will attach a screen shot showing the settings. Thanks!

Hello  @dpotts2  Thank You for posting your question.

Unfortunately, the times are incorrect.  Take a look at your settings once again.  The "Due" and "Until" fields are both set to April 8 @ 11:59 p.m. (essentially midnight).  However, your "Show Correct Answers at" field displays a time earlier in the day: April 8 @ 12:59 p.m.  That is why your student was able to see those answers after taking your quiz sometime that afternoon into the evening.

Ahh, thanks for catching! I don't know how I missed this. But at least I'm consistent: I made the same error for the quiz in all five of my classes this week. :smileysilly:
