Why is there not DARK MODE

We need dark mode. The white is too bright and hurts my eyes. MAKE DARK MODE

You'll want to review the five bulleted links on the right side of those pages to learn about the idea process, the status (this one is currently "Identified"), and when voting periods are open.

As a work around until Canvas hopefully provides an option (see Chris's comments), check out this extension if you are on Chrome:
