can I add a logarithm function in new quiz format?

Jump to solution

How do I add logarithm, base 10 and natural in new quizzes?  This is a basic function that is needed for science.

Howdy,

  • The math editor is MathQuill, not the same math editor that is in the standard RCE.  There is no Advanced View, but you can enter your own LaTeX commands wrapped in \( and \) directly into the editing area.  Equations entered will show as LaTeX commands while editing, and you will not see a preview until you save the question.  The Canvas Equation Editor Tips: Advanced View and Canvas Equation Editor Tips: Chemistry guides provide tips for writing LaTeX.

Cheers,
Chad Scott

I agree. This is pretty basic. My institution just switched from moodle to canvas. I'm not impressed with the quiz functionality in canvas. Moodle was much better. I don't think canvas is designed for the sciences. I guess my institution didn't involve scientists in the decision to switch!
