Hello @csgirl - my first thought was to recommend that you touch base with Canvas Support as they should be able to identify the cause and clear the attempt in progress. And then I went searching for other reports of this issue and found this conversation from Feb 2022. The last post has this suggestion:
"Thank you for reaching out to us on this matter, this occurred due to a problem with out jobs server on the 24th, a large back up of jobs caused some to fail during that time and that resulted in failed grade pass back for students who took new quiz exams that day. We have gone forward with refreshing these students attempts, the instructor can also do this manually by going to the Moderation page, toggling the fudge points and selecting “update score”. They are now visible within Speedgrader."
