@InstContentTeam  - Re:   Announcements: Unpublished Course Warning

I've been using the 'Delayed Post' setting option when I create all my announcements in my unpublished courses prior to term start. My thought process was that doing so would enable notifications to be sent.  After reading this deploy note I reread the Instructor Announcement guide here:

This currently states: 

• If you create an announcement in an unpublished course, the delay posting date must take place after the course has been published for notifications to send to those who have chosen to receive notifications for new announcements.

So should the new warning prompt instead say something like this here:

You must publish your course or use the delayed post setting with a date after the date the course is to be published in order for students to receive announcement notifications.  Notifications will not...

Hi @JeffW, Thank you for your feedback on the warning message for announcements on unpublished courses. Our team is updating the message to provide better clarity.

Love this change to announcements in unpublished courses, thank you!  Could it possibly extend to published courses that are not yet open to students due to course or section date limitations?

I have a question about the feature, "Announcements: Editing an Announcement Warning." The text for the warning is, "Editing an announcement will create a notification in the User Dashboard and Course Activity Stream. If you want users to receive the edited announcement via their notification settings, you will need to create a new announcement."

Should it be this instead? "Editing an announcement will NOT create a notification in the User Dashboard..." 

In the Release notes, the Summary states, "When editing an Announcement, a warning displays that notifications are not sent via notification settings." I looked at the actual message in Beta and the "not" isn't there. Should it be?

Thank you @SamGarza1 . I was just talking to @KristinL at InstructureCon last week and asked her if people actually check the Q&A and take action. She assured me that people are reading our comments and taking action when needed.  It's so reassuring to know that our voices are heard and valued. 🐼
