Hi @pavanjsi, Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We've resolved the issue and you should be seeing the new experience on beta now. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi there Canvas team,
Re. the enforcement of the Enhanced Gradebook Filter Feature, in our Beta environment, we've noticed that the option is no longer available under Course Settings (as expected perhaps, due to the feature being enforced).
However, when we look at the Gradebook (in the beta environment), we've observed that the enhanced gradebook filter hasn't been enabled. It is still showing the older gradebook filters. Am I missing something here? I had presumed that all courses in the beta environment will have enhanced gradebook turned on from the 2023-07-17. Is this not the case?
Many thanks.
Kind regards,
Sid

Thank you Sam. Just confirming that I've had a look and can see the new experience on beta now.
Hello, just wanted to make a note here that New Quizzes that have been aligned to Outcomes are still not showing up, even though the functionality exists to add a New Quizzes quiz to an Outcome. We reported this issue a couple of times to Canvas Support (09734933, 09566859) and the last update from our CSM is that this is still being worked on. Including a disclaimer about this feature gap in the release notes might be helpful for institutions who have begun rolling out New Quizzes. Thank you.
Another note/request re: the New Quizzes Bulk Migration. We currently have the "New Quizzes" feature option disabled but unlocked at root, which allows instructors to enable it at the course level, as well as subaccount admins to enable it for their subaccounts. Because Bulk Migration requires that New Quizzes feature option be enabled, I was wondering what changes doing so would introduce to the instructor experience? For example, will Item Banks be added to the course navigation, will the option to select Classic vs. New Quizzes come up every time an instructor tries to create a quiz? This would be helpful to know, as our campus slowly begins to socialize New Quizzes and consider changing our configurations in Prod. Thank you.
I just met with a team at one of our middle schools yesterday...got some feedback about the enhanced grade book filters. They very much miss the drop-down boxes at the top of the screen to pick sections. Please can we bring the drop-down selection boxes back? Turning off a section and picking a section is not an enhancement in their opinion.
Agree with what Ann said! I am hearing the same feedback! It would be so great if section filtering was an option!
I very much agree with this. It's now 3 clicks instead of 1 to go between classes.
I have the same problem here. I'm much more likely to look for "modules" rather than "assignments," but don't have the option to have that filter always available to me as a drop down at the top of the page.
Filtering sections have become troublesome for our teachers too. why adding more clicks to something that could be down with 1?hows that an enhancement? Can we switch back to the old gradebook? or can we bring back the drop-down selection box?
I logged in to enable the bulk migration of New Quizzes on copy/import feature that was supposed to be released yesterday and I do not see it under Feature Options. I checked Beta and do see the feature listed there, so I know I'm not missing something in production. I don't see any retraction or delay flag on this feature in the release notes. What is the status of this, we had already informed our staff that this feature was coming out on Saturday.
I'm getting a lot of feedback from our teachers that the "enhanced" grade book filtering setup is a major step backwards for them. They much preferred last year's design, being able to add pulldown menus to the top of their grade books from the "Actions" menu. They found it way more convenient than the current arrangement.
Can you at minimum make the new filtering setup optional, ideally at the course level?
We're also receiving quite a bit of feedback about the extra-clicking needed to change the filters in the gradebook, the extra clicks are why we held off turning this on back when it was a feature option. My high school teachers with multiple sections used the drop down to quickly toggle from one class period/class list to another and they don't like that it now takes 3 clicks to do the same action.
Wondering if the frustrations mentioned in this thread will be addressed with gradebook drop down filtering? For the most part teachers at my school have adapted over the course of the year, but no one really likes it.
