Canvas Deploy Notes (2025-01-15)
Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. Institutions are responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of their custom CSS/JS with each release and deploy to assess potential impacts.

Summary
In New Quizzes, comprehensive keyboard support is added for setting target locations on Hot Spot question types.
Hot Spot Controls:
- Move Hot Spot: Use the Arrow keys to move the selected hot spot in small increments.
- Resize Hot Spot: Hold Shift and use the Arrow keys to resize the selected hot spot.
- Shrink Hot Spot: Hold Shift + Alt and use the Arrow keys to shrink the selected hot spot.
- Close Modal: Press the Escape key to close the hot spot control modal.
Keyboard Shortcuts for Instructors:
- F: Expand Image
- D: Remove Image
- B: Browse for Image
- I: Open Shortcuts Modal
- R: Add Square Hot Spot
- O: Add Oval Hot spot
- P: Draw Polygon Hot Spot
- E: Close Polygon Hot Spot
- Delete or Backspace: Remove current Hot Spot
- Enter: Add Polygon Point
Student-Specific Hot Spot Targeting:
- Set Target Point: Press S to start targeting a point.
- Move Target Point: Use Arrow keys to adjust the position of the target.
- Save and End Selection: Press D to finalize and end the selection process.
Note: Make sure no input field is selected to use these controls and shortcuts.

This feature allows users to interact with hot spots more efficiently through keyboard shortcuts for movement, resizing, and managing multiple shapes on the canvas. It ensures smooth and accessible hot spot manipulation, eliminating the need to rely solely on a mouse or touchpad.
