Developments in Folio?

Are there any plans to develop Folio, the student portfolio tool?

Several areas stand out but two main ones that cause frustration with our users:

  • Lack of a RCE when writing about Projects
  • Inability to upload mp4 files for evidence (this is pretty much the de facto video standard for most devices?)
  • No link to OneDrive for Business (Office integration) (and link to Google now gone!)

We are working in APAC so only have access to the free version so I am guessing there are some additional limitations.

We really want to make folio work for our students and I don't want to start looking elsewhere,  but it desperately needs some updating!

Thanks for posting in the Community!

We are continuing to support the Canvas Student ePortfolios product, however we are bringing these features and these needed updates to a new solution.

Some of the features you mentioned are being brought into this new solution. Including RCE when creating artifacts and being all inclusive within Canvas, eliminating the need to navigate to a different website.

We should be able to update our Community with any new information for that new lifelong learning product in our Product Blog.
