Do the files uploaded to canvas studio have to be a specific type of file? After uploading the file to the studio the three dots on the side which are used for options are not showing up so the files cannot be annotated currently. Why might that be? How can this be fixed?

I would assume that the videos you are uploading to Studio are less than 10 GB in file size [as described in How do I upload media files in my Canvas Studio ac... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)]. You might try to clear your browser's cache/history, close the browser, open the browser, and then try again.
If these options don't work, you may need to reach out to the Canvas Help Desk folks to see if they have any other suggestions for you. If you do reach out to them, please come back to this topic to provide an update ... and if you were able to find a resolution.
