Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with Studio in one of my Canvas courses.
Last week, I was able to open Studio from the Rich Content Editor and successfully upload a video to a page. However, when I tried again this week, every time I click on the Studio button, I only see a window with a cloud and three dots — and nothing loads.
Here’s what I’ve tested so far:
- In my Sandbox course, Studio opens fine from the Rich Content Editor and I can upload videos without any problems.
- In the affected course, the error occurs consistently on every page when I try to open Studio.
- I tried copying the page from the course into my Sandbox to upload the video there, but the same error appeared once the page was copied ove
- Also not working in incognito/private windows
- Also cleared Cache & Cookies
From my testing, it seems like the problem is isolated to that particular course.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a fix or a setting I need to adjust in the course to get Studio working again?

Sounds like a bug if it’s only happening in one course. If your Canvas has the option, you can submit a ticket so the support team can take a look.

My institution does not subscribe to it but are you using DesignPLUS by Cidi Labs (https://cidilabs.com/landing/design-tools)?
If you are using DesignPLUS, does the problem happen if you make something new (like a Canvas page) and do not use DesignPLUS?
If you are not using DesignPLUS, does the problem happen if you make something new (like a Canvas page)?
I ask because in the screenshot/PDF that you shared, it looks like you are using that third-party tool and that you are editing something that already exists. Sometimes, when we have problems, we have to circleback and try to either (a) create something new instead of editing something because of some sort of conflict or (b) create something new while not using a third-party tool.
