My students were required to make a screencast on their Chromebooks. I was helping them, but a couple had a weird issue.
We would enable the screencast, selecting the appropriate tab to share. Then, after it counted down, the recording box would disappear to a new formate. And the recording wouldn't save or record. I could pause the recording, and the original box would return. But when it finished, nothing would have been recorded or saved.

Hey @AllenReed ,
Thank you for posting on the Instructure Community!
I am actually aware of there being an issue with Screencast-o-Matic and studio at the moment, in fact my institution was facing the same issue last week. What seemed to be the best solution for us was for the students to completely uninstall the screen recorder from their computers, then have them re-open Canvas Studio and then after selecting the screencast o matic option, it would prompt them to re-download the screen recorder to the newest version.
After that, we haven't experienced any issues (that I am aware of!) with studio since. Do you think this would be a possible solution for you?
All the best,
Noah

I will give it a try. I hadn't thought of that so we haven't tried it. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks
