Self Enrollment and Course Pacing

It does not look like we cannot use a self-enrollment link or a manual enrollment through People. We do not use the API for enrollments, but I guess we may have to learn. 

For our PD use, we would like for faculty to be able to self-enroll then the course pacing starts upon their enrollment.

@joulesmc2, Course Pacing should work with students enrolled through the People tool or that self-enroll with a join link. Is that not the behavior you observed, do you mean that you don't have the permission to enroll in those ways, or was it something else entirely?

Apologies in advance as I may be totally confused and posting in the wrong spot.

We have enabled Course Pacing and I am currently testing it with a very short course in which students self-join using the 'Add a join this course link to the course home page'.

When students join is does not auto-assign due dates to the two Classic Quizzes that are included in the course.  Students successfully join but assignments are not given a due date.  I can see the dates for each individual student view in the Course Pace, but they do not get assigned these and nothing shows on their to-do list.

Additionally, when I make changes to the course pacing and attempt to publish them I get an error message.  In spite of receiving the error message, when I view the Course Pace for individual students the edits to their pace do show.  So, while there is an error it seems the edits do get applied to individual student pacing.

Question 1: Are due dates for assignments generated for students at the time of enrollment?

Question 2:  Is the course required to have an end date in course settings?  Much like Pace Plan I would like to not have a course end date, but instead it be based on the Course Pace.

WRT question #2, no, the course does not require an end date. In this case the course pace ends at the last assignment's due date.

WRT the other issues, we're investigating.
