Going into production?

Greetings. Please forgive me if this information is available somewhere, but I haven't found it.

Is there an estimated timeframe for when this Redesign will move from Beta to Production? And will it be required for all users?

I heard from my institution's Canvas rep that as of January 2022 we will NOT have an option but to use this new discussion redesign.

I sure hope they change their minds on that as we need more time to get used to this. Seems they just threw it at us literally overnight with no advance notice, no time to get used to such a drastic change to a feature that is so very central to online instruction (as the only way for students to interact with each other in an online course).

Hi @Margi, the redesign is in production now but behind a Feature Preview flag so customers can test new features and provide feedback in this user group. You can enable/disable the Feature Preview flag in Course Settings. We will not deprecate the current version without surveying this user group first. If the feature is not quite ready for your course, you are able to continue using the current version.

The redesign will be in a "BETA" state until we get enough signals from the user group that we are safe to move forward.
