When adding marks to a rubric, an instructor can navigate to the next student in SpeedGrader using navigational arrows or the 'next' button before submitting the assessment of the rubric. The marks entered are lost upon the navigational change.
There should be some kind of warning to prevent the loss of entered data.
We are currently working on improving this functionality. You will soon have the ability to save your work as a draft. Additionally, an auto-save feature, which will activate when navigating to another student, will be released in the near future.
Absolutely. If there is a problem with auto-saving, then at least a warning when changing to another student would be so helpful.
"You have unsaved changes. Are you sure you want to leave this submission?"
I know it's my mistake, but around 25% of the marking I just did had to be re-done because I either forgot to save the rubric, the comment or both.
@mctock1 @PeterSercombe Thank you for sharing your feedback and apologies for the delay in communication. This is a frustrating one. There will be a way to prevent that data loss in Phase 3. We’re actively working on a solution to make sure rubric marks aren’t lost if someone navigates away before submitting. Thanks for highlighting it!
Interesting, I hadn't heard of these phases. What else is included in phase 3?
I will be posting an updated timeline that shares all the updates coming in Phase 3 soon. Please stay tuned!
