Error message when adding student

I am trying to add a student to my course, but keep getting the following error message: "The following users could not be created.

• c***********@gmail.com: The email address provided conflicts with an existing user's email that is awaiting verification. Please add the user by either SIS ID or Login ID."

I entered all other students in and none of them have this email. There is no one pending with her name or email.

Hello @TracyFannon. Your question is in the Free For Teacher Canvas Users group, so I assume you are asking about adding a student there. The message means that the student needs to log in to their Gmail account and select the link they were emailed to verify the address. They should also be able to select the forgot password link on the login page and in effect re-send that message.
