I have received help for this student previously when she had trouble logging in. They provided new login credentials. Now, she can log in but she can't see the course I invited her to join. I have resent the invitation for this specific course several times to no avail. When she logs in, she can see another course that she completed, but can't see the one she desperately needs to submit work (toward her goal of certification). She has checked her spam folder and hasn't missed any emails. How do I help her escape this cycle of frustration?
Have you checked her email?
Hi @sukiekeita,
Have you considered sending the student a link that goes directly to the "Home" area of the course? If there is an invitation that is pending and they are logged into the correct Canvas user account, I believe it will automatically accept the pending invitation.

That is an exciting prospect, Doug! What do you mean by the home area? To me, that might refer to the Dashboard. I went to the Canvas Free for Teachers Dashboard (at canvas.instructure.com) and tapped the three dots to see if there was an option to invite anyone there. The Dashboard doesn't have a "people" function. Next, I tried going to the Portfolio Portal course, which is what I as the admin for our group decided to establish as the home page, and I'm back where I started. I went to the option to "choose home page" and double-checked it. It is still the modules page, which is what I want it to be. Could you share any more insight? Thank you.
Hi @sukiekeita,
The home area of the course is not the Dashboard. The home area of the course is going into the specific course (the one that you invited the student to) from the Dashboard and stopping right there. The link would be something like https://canvas.instructure.com/courses/####### (with actual numbers instead of the only the # sign).
Send that link to the student and see what happens.

It's Sukie again. I heard back from the student. When she used the link she was logged in, but still received an "Access Denied" message. I could provide a screenshot if that's possible through this channel. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and help me provide our students the best service possible.
For context... This message shows when I locate Vershawn through the course that I have repeatedly invited her to join. She has only ever used one email address.
It states under New Analytics: "This user has an inactive enrollment status or a deleted status."
Hi @sukiekeita,
There is not much more that the Canvas Community can do because we do not have access to your Canvas course and because Canvas Free for Teachers offers limited support.
If you (and your student) have followed the steps at the three links below...
... there is something else going on and the best recommendation might be to:
I am sorry that I cannot be of more help but maybe someone else can.

@sukiekeita Silly question. Is the course published? Without being published, a user will not receive the invitation to a course.
