Default due time applies regardless of setting a custom time in the bulk assignment date editor

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 9/25/24.

Description

When bulk editing due dates and setting a specific time, the default due date still applies when saving.

Expected Behavior

Instead it should keep the manually entered due time.

Workaround

Edit the dates outside the bulk editor.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Prerequisite: A course with at least a couple assignments.

  1. Set a default due time for the course to anything other than 11:59 PM.

  2. Go to the bulk due date editor and attempt to enter a time that is not the default due time.

  3. Save and notice that it ignores the custom due time and applies the default due time anyway.
