How does the MasteryConnect lockdown browser work for chromebooks? Does it have to be in kiosk mode since it is using third party respondus?
Note: e also use a third party platform for monitoring/controlling student's chromebooks browser in real time, but the student must be logged onto the chromebook therefore if using Kiosk mode, the screen monitoring would become disabled.

@laura_kelly Lockdown Browser is now supported on Chromebooks and we are working with customers to transition from the Chromebook kiosk to LockDown Browser.

Using LockDown Browser requires that your district install Respondus LockDown Browser (MasteryConnect OEM version) to your student devices. Once LockDown Browser has been installed, please contact MasteryConnect Support to enable the LockDown Browser feature in your account.
There is also this article, @laura_kelly , for downloading the Mastery Connect app that uses Kiosk mode.

Hi @laura_kelly! Unfortunately, the Mastery Connect Lockdown browser tool does not work on Chromebooks. An alternative to Lockdown browser would be using your Chromebook in Kiosk mode. You mentioned the third-party screen monitoring software running on your student Chromebooks can't run at the same time as Kiosk mode. Kiosk mode itself does provide some browser security features if you decide to turn off your third-party monitoring software during Mastery Connect assessments.
Please let me know if I can help you with any further questions!
Thanks,

Hello Tami. Can you provide more details regarding the options for locking down Mastery Connect assessments on student Chromebooks? We just recently transitioned to MC and all our students have Chromebook devices. Does the Kiosk mode prevent them accessing other content during assessments? What is the MC Student App?
Thanks in advance for any guidance on best practices.
Jared
