Is there a way to assign a quiz to a student group?
Hi @apaglione,
In Canvas, a "group" is like a "team." Canvas Groups are set up for collaborative assignments and discussions. Since Quizzes can only be done individually, you cannot set up a "Group Quiz."
If, however, you only want some of your students to take the Quiz, you can enter the individual student names into the Assignment box (where you enter the dates.) Another option is to create a "Section" (or "Sections"). Then you can assign students to a "Section" and give them a different Quiz (or Assignment) than the rest of your class. In this case, the students in that Section will all take the Quiz individually.
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
Will you try to incorporate this option into Canvas? For students to take the Quiz in groups such that each group only submits once?
Hello @Eparto
I was able to see that quite a bit of conversation has taken place on this subject HERE.
It's hard to say if a feature like this would ever be incorporated or not with the new quiz engine. Without going into too much detail, many things would need to be worked out to make it function properly and run smooth. Quizzes are essentially designed to be taken individually by students.
At this point, groups can only be used for Collaborative assignments and discussions.
Hopefully this helps!
