Lock edit on Item Bank questions

Hello,

My University just switched to Canvas over the summer. I built a form (fill in the blank document for students) for my department using the 'New Quiz' because of the question type. I need to share it with my department. Since there is no way to export a 'New Quiz', I figured I would share an Item Bank. I added the form to a Master Item Bank, but my University uses the 'All Banks' as a repository for Item Banks. If another faculty wants to edit the form after creating their own quiz, it forces them to edit it in the Item Bank itself. The edits impact all instances of that 'Question' used.

Is there a way to lock an Item Bank so that others cannot edit it? I haven't been able to find a way to copy the Item Bank to specific courses either. It feels like I'm missing something.

Thank you @jcarpenter1 for the quick response! I truly appreciate it. I think the issue is that I can't make an Item Bank without it posting to the 'All Banks' location. So, if I were to just share it with individual members of the college, they'd still be able to find it on the 'All Banks' and change the questions. Does that make sense?

In an ideal situation, I'd love to be able to make an Item Bank and export it and send it to the college in an email, but I haven't found that to be an option either.

Hey! I wanted to hop in and offer some additional recommendations for you. 

When you share your Item Bank (see image below), you have a couple of share option. If you click "Share with Institution" and you mark it as "Can View", no one at the institution will be able to make edits to your Item Bank. It forces them to use the bank as is. Additionally, you can share with individual users so they can either view or edit. You can learn more about that functionality in this guide.

Finally, New Quizzes will become exportable soon, so you will be able to do the functionality you described (export and send it to a colleague) shortly. You can follow the New Quizzes Roadmap in the New Quizzes Hub or connect with your CSM for more information.
