TA Moderate/Grade, but not Edit?

In our graduate programs, we frequently have TA's in our larger courses who are required to grade and moderate new quizzes, but the wish of the instructor is that the TA's do not edit any questions. Currently, it doesn't appear there is any way to give someone moderating/grading access without giving them full edit access to the quizzes as well. Is my read of this accurate? Or, is this something that New Quizzes could implement so we are able to safeguard quizzes from accidental/unintentional edits?

The permissions to edit and grade quizzes are tied together for all assignment types, including New Quizzes, but the Item Banks feature may provide a workaround for you. When you put questions in Item Banks, you can choose how they're shared--either with just the creator, specific individuals, at the course level, or institution-wide. If you were to put all the questions into Item Banks shared only the instructor, the TAs would still have editing privileges for the quiz settings but would not be able to edit the actual questions being pulled from banks. It's not a perfect solution, but might give the instructor peace of mind. In my experience, a stern warning not to edit from the instructor is also sufficient to keep TAs from editing questions.
