Track browser extensions in Quiz Logs

Have been utilizing the canvas quiz mode but its been brought to my attention that students are able to use AI tools and extensions of varied nature within the browser windows. Whilst it was possible to monitor tab switching and leaving windows, how can i track and tackle cases of  academic dishonesty if Canvas cannot inherently track and curb the usage of in window extensions without having to use additional tools such as lockdown that has run me into multiple tech issues in the past. How can i precisely say whether foul play was involved using the access to logs i have in place. Thank you for taking time to read and answer

I think the realistic answer here is "you can't".  Things like lockdown browser or online proctoring may be able to detect or curb usage of some things, but they are definitely not foolproof and in my opinion introduce just as many (if not more) problems than they claim to solve.

What I said above doesn't really have anything to do with Canvas specifically, but rather the web as a whole.  While we in education may have our desires to stop, track, log, etc everything students do, it's important to remember that Canvas is a web platform.  In order for Canvas ot be able to do that kind of thing, browsers would have to be altered to allow it, and that would basically open the door to advertisers, and all kinds of companies getting access to that data too.  I'd personally be super against that, as I already think companies get way too much data about what we are doing through other means.

This is my opinion, which I wanted to share at least since nobody else has replied to your question.
