How do I install the Canvas PowerSchool API plugin as an admin?

As an admin, you can install the Canvas PowerSchool API plugin for Canvas PowerSchool grade passback (GPB). Before you begin this process, you must download the Canvas PTP Plugin file.

Note: The PowerTeacher plugin configuration tool can only upload zipped files. Do not extract the zipped file. Also, if you download the file in a Safari browser, Safari will automatically extract the file.

Log In to PowerSchool

In the PowerSchool Admin portal, enter your login credentials [1] and click the Sign In button [2].

Open System Setup

In the Main Navigation Setup menu, click the System link.

Open Server System Settings

In the Server menu, click the System Settings link.

Open Plugin Management Configuration

On the System Settings page, click the Plugin Management Configuration link.

Install Plugin

On the Plugin Management Dashboard, click the Install button.

Upload Canvas PTP File

Click the Choose File button [1]. On your computer, select the Canvas PTP Plugin ZIP file [2] and click the Open button [3].

To finish uploading the file, click the Install button [4].   

Note: Download the Canvas PTP Plugin file.

View Installed Plugin

View the Canvas PowerSchool plugin in the Plugin Dashboard. Learn about enabling the plugin.
